Ensemble Caprice and the SMAM join forces for this closing concert of the Montreal Bach Festival, performing a monumental work from the pen of the Cantor of Leipzig, the incomparable Weihnachtsoratorium! J. S. Bach composed this masterpiece for one of the most festive times of the year – the Christmas season. On this occasion, we shall perform all of the 6 cantatas which make up the Christmas Oratorio.

Our adventure with Gypsies continues! Indeed, following on the successes of Vivaldi and the Gypsies and Telemann and the Gypsies, recorded on the Analekta label, Caprice now completes the trilogy, adding an oriental touch to the series by placing Gypsy music side by side with The Oriental Miscellany collection published in Calcutta in 1789.
