Ensemble Caprice has performed twice Bach’s eternal masterpiece the Mass in b minor with the Ottawa Bach Choir in Toronto and Ottawa. The performances received enthusiastic reactions as highlighted by the review in the Ottawa Citizen:
“There was superlative playing from the orchestra, including masterful flute obbligato by Maute, and virtuoso turns by the trio of natural trumpets. A highlight was the splendid Quoniam, with Louis-Pierre Bergeron playing his curly pug-tail of a Baroque horn and backed by two amiably chattering bassoons (some of Bach’s most imaginative instrumentation).”
