Another first for Ensemble Caprice
On January 18th, an enthusiastic audience filled Bourgie Hall to hear Ensemble Caprice perform the Montreal premiere of Antonio Vivaldi’s oratorio Juditha Triumphans. Richard Turp writes in bachtrack.com: “Caprice’s performance of the work was musically convincing and stylistically impressive. Maute led his troops with commendable verve and vivacity. (…) His reading was most notable however for its rhythmic energy and natural pacing – and above all for his absolute commitment to the work and to the performers.
