On Good Friday, April 18, 2014 at 7:30 p.m., the Choir of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul and Ensemble Caprice, directed by Jordan de Souza, presents

Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. John Passion in its original liturgical context.

The performance will take place within a worship service modeled on the Good Friday Vespers held at Leipzig’s St. Thomas Church during J. S. Bach’s time.

A freewill offering will be taken during the service. A pre-service talk about the work will be given by Conductor Jordan de Souza at 6:30 p.m. (entry via 3419 Redpath); main doors to the church open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18.

The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul is located at the corner of Sherbrooke and Redpath Streets. The main entrance faces the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. The Church can be reached by metro (Guy-Concordia) or bus 24 (exit at Bishop Street).
